Catalytic mixtures of filtering media with manganese removal properties. They efficiently remove dissolved manganese compounds from water, while reducing iron concentration. The manganese removal media may require pre-aeration or regeneration of the mixture with potassium permanganate solution.
G1/G2 manganese ore is a granulated filtering material with strong oxidising properties for residential and industrial water treatment systems. It enables precipitation of iron and manganese compounds, which settle on the medium surface and are removed in the backwashing process. Thanks to its high oxidisability, the G1/G2 natural mine ore is characterized by high water treatment efficiency and the longest operating life on the market. Due to high specific gravity of the medium, regular and proper washing is necessary.
The Pyrolox medium is natural mine ore intended for removing dissolved iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide compounds from water. Oxidising compounds, the ore enables precipitation of solids and their removal in a backwashing process. In order to increase efficiency and extend medium operating life, you should use additional oxidants, e.g. through air injection or dosing sodium or calcium hypochlorite. In order to maintain optimum medium properties, the Pyrolox manganese ore requires daily washing. Due to high weight of the material, it should be used together with the gravel bed.
The Defeman catalytic medium is used to remove iron and manganese compounds dissolved in water. Thanks to its strong oxidising properties, the medium turns easily soluble compounds of harmful substances into their insoluble forms. Then, the precipitated contaminants are retained on the medium surface, from where they can be removed during backwash. Defeman is an efficient iron and manganese removal medium, effective even in case of high exceedances of these materials. The Defeman manganese ore does not dissolve or abrade, so it does not need to be periodically refilled.
